Background
The course leads to the award of the Chartered Forensic Auditor (CFA) professional designation which is valid for 3 years and is open to holders of at least a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Auditing or a professional qualification in the related field which has the same rating as a Bachelor's Degree. Candidates without this above pre-requisite may apply for other professional designations such as the Certified Forensic Investigator (CFI) or the Certified Private Investigator (CPI), etc.
This course explores the forensic accountant's role in today's economy. Topics covered include but not limited to fraud detection and fraud investigation techniques, valuation of closely held businesses, lost profits analyses, and various types of litigation support services. Fundamental legal concepts governing expert witness testimony are also examined, and students are required to quantify economic damages in cases. By the end of the course students are able to understand both the pervasiveness and the causes of fraud and white-collar crime in our society, examine the types of fraud and fraud schemes that affect business enterprises, explore methods of fraud detection and prevention, and increase their ability to recognize potential fraudulent situations.

Admimissions for this certification are done in January, April, July and October. Registration is opened one (1) month before the admissions dates. Interested persons who meet the admission requirements may pay a commitment fee of USD50 at the RBZ Interbank Rate which will be applied towards their fees upon admission. It is one's responsibility to ensure that one meets our minimum admissions requirements and as a matter of policy, we do not make any refunds.
Credential To Be Awarded
Upon sucessful completion of the certification programme, one will be awarded the professional credential of a Chartered Forensic Auditor (CFA).
Practicing Certificate
Members intending to go into public practice shall upon request and payment of the application fee, be issued with a Practicing Certificates of the Institute. CFAs without a Practicing Certificate are prohibited from practicing without a valid practicing certificate.
